Lay Field Function Not Working

Postby Tony5578 » Sat Apr 24, 2010 5:33 pm

I'm new to Betting Assistant so I hope this isn't a daft question. I started using the Lay Field function last week and everything was working well. I tried it again for one race last Tuesday and it did not work. I thought nothing of it at the time until I couldn't get it to work again today. All my preferences are the same, as far as I can tell I'm not doing anything different, but when I click on the Lay Field button the bets do not appear in My Bets and no message appears in the black bar at the bottom of the screen. Has anyone had a similar experience or does anyone have any ideas what might be doing wrong?

Hi Tony and welcome :)

I use the "lay field" daily and have not had a problem.
I can offer no more without more information, maybe Gary will be along soon?
What springs to mind is it possible you had insufficient funds?
Are you sure you are using valid odds increments?

Cheers - Michael :)

P.S. You could try uninstalling BA, re-booting and re-installing BA?

Strange, I am not aware of any bugs affecting laying the field. What odds are you entering?

You could try sending us the diagnostic log. It's named "BA_Diagnostic.txt" and it's located in "C:\temp\Betting Assistant Logs"
Please email it to admin@gruss-software.co.uk

Hi and thanks for replying,

It seems it was me after all. I don't use it with the offset bet enabled but I had a figure in the tick offset box. Once I removed that figure it started working.

Believe it or not I did re-install it before finding the solution was a lot simpler!

Thanks
Tony

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
