UPDATE trigger

Postby mak » Sun Jan 24, 2010 9:16 am

Can someone help with the syntax of update trigger?

i have a formula for example if(h5>3;"BACK";"") where & how can I add the UPDATE function?

I need to update the odds if my submitted bet is far behind the available odds

thanks

1) Put "UPDATE" in the trigger column
2) Change the odds in column R to the new odds
3) Column T should change to a new ref to indicate is has been updated. It may have "N" appended if you have selected this option when setting up the Excel link.

The best thing to do is try it manually first to understand what happens.

There's no reason it can't be used in a formula. You just have to decide what conditions should trigger the update. You need to explain exactly when you want the update to trigger for someone to be able to provide an example.

If you don't intend to use VBA then you should make sure that "UPDATE trigger appends 'N' to new bet ref" is not ticked when you set up the Excel link because you will have no way of removing the "N" which will block further UPDATE triggers.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
