Version 64 problem

Postby pugs » Mon Nov 30, 2009 7:33 pm

Hello Gary, Mark, All.

When downloading the latest version, 64, is everyone else losing their preferences/options and user profiles? And is there a way not to lose them?

And second. When I was setting my “football” profile back up, I noticed the times are no longer next to the matches in the “quick pick”. Is this also deliberate? As in the “market tree” discussed in “danjuma’s” thread http://gruss-software.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=4250

Many thanks.

Sorry, I messed up. I changed the internal version which causes the preferences to be lost. Yes the missing times were deliberate. I will be adding an option to display them. I will try and update it tomorrow. The good news is that I've re-instated auto updating so you won't need to re-install it when I release the update.

Cheers Gary.

I was in a bit of a rush and was using the default profile just to quickly set my football profile back up on (hope that makes sense) But when I realised the times of the matches were missing in the quick pick, I rolled my pc back to yesterday so I am using version 63z again.

Will it still auto update from this version?
And if so will preferences still be lost?
And if so can I refuse the update till I know I have enough time to set my BA back up again?

Sorry for all the questions.

Please ignore those dopey questions, I wasn’t thinking straight.

I was thinking that if I couldn’t start my BA till say one minute before racing started and it auto updated I would have no profiles and default settings.
But when I have 20 minutes later I will download 64 again and setup my user profiles and preferences so when there is an update (whether “auto update” confirmation is required or not) it will save the 64 preferences file. Simples.

And no, there aren’t many people living on my planet

The latest Beta (1.1.0.64a) has an option to hide the times. It's unticked by default.

If you already have 1.1.0.64 installed it should auto update, if not see http://gruss-software.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3922 for download link.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
