Just check whether the last item on you results sheet is above or below zero.

depends on what you are trying to do. The results sheet gets updated when a new market is loaded or when -6 is entered into the Q2 cell on the trigger sheet.
If you have autoselect on actual off of preceding race then the results sheet will only get updated at that point, the result will be unknown at that point, so if you need the result before you can bet on the next race then you won't get it. It will end up missing every other race due to not having the previous result. It's better to have the autoselect on 1 min before the scheduled off as it give as much time as possible for the previous result to have been settled before BA updates the results sheet.

You could of course have some vba that fires a -6 at a set point before the scheduled off of the next race to update the results sheet which would eneble you to autoselect at the off if that is what you want to do.

Yorkie thnx for you reply
Can you clarify the following please?

if for example I set it to the "actual off of preceding race" and in the first race place a bet when the market suspended BA will move to the next race

so if I set it to fire -6 at Q2 when "total matched" is >6000 (assuming that at this time most who place bets know the previous race result) do you believe that it it is going to work?

I can't really say if that would work or not as it is based on assumptions. It assumes that other people require the previous result before they place any bets and that a specific matched amount will be achieved and that the previous result will be settled by betfair when this amount is reached even though we don't know at what point this will be. Sounds like a lot of assumptions to me.

Why do you need the next race to load when the previous race starts?

If you really do need to load the next race when the previous race starts then a better way to use the -6 & Q2 method is to have the -6 fired at a specific time, use the cell D2, which counts down to the scheduled off of the loaded race and fire in the -6 when that hits 1 min to go. You don't say at what time your bets are placed.

I'm no good with vba so someone else may have a better way.

Setting BA to autoselect with 1 min to go to the scheduled off would have the same effect as above.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
