BACK then LAY Triggers... help please

Postby throwmeadisc » Wed May 13, 2009 4:14 pm

Hi,

Can someone please tell me what trigger to use if I want to BACK a selection at a price and then LAY it at 2.00, with both bets being kept in play?

The BACK price will always be >=3.00, but could be higher.

Examples:
BACK at 4.60 LAY at 2.00
BACK at 3.50 LAY at 2.00

Is this possible or will I have to submit two bets seperately?

Also, what would the triggers be if I wanted to:
BACK at 4.60 LAY at 3.60
BACK at 3.20 LAY at 3.20

Kept in play etc..

Thanks,

Al :)

It's BACK-TF2-IP

Change "TF2" to your required odds to lay at, eg. "TF3.2" to lay at 3.2, etc.

Thanks Gary.

That was what I was after. But i'm not sure I can use it as when the bet is placed the offset bet does not get shown in the BET REF column and also does not appear the Bet Results sheet too - making it hard to findout if the bet was matched and the result. It does however get logged in the MyBets Sheet, but that is only good for the active market.

It would be great to have the bet appear in the Bet Results Sheet and also have the Bet Ref shown somewhere on the trigger sheet in Excel. I'm not sure how you can do that? Maybe you could come up with a solution....?

Thanks again for your quick reply.

Cheers,

Al :)

Hi Gary / Mark,

I've just noticed that the -TF Trigger Modifier is not in the help file.

I still can't see it Gary. I've cleared Temp IE files too...

Can you double check?

Thanks,

Al

The User Guide has definitely been amended and is online.

The TF trigger modifier is the third one in the list of modifiers.

You should also see a new section in the guide called "Keyboard Functions"

Nope still can't see it.... must be my proxy server at work caching the file.

No problems, I know how it works anyway.

Thanks Gary and Mark.

Hi,

It does sound like it is cached somewhere.
Close all web browser windows and try again.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
