Postby dflowe » Sun Sep 15, 2019 9:17 pm

Hi I guess this has been asked before but does Betfair allow sp lay bets on greyhounds?
I am just tring a new idea and so for tonight all my sp lay bets have been not allowed .....although I have been staking £5 at average odds 3.5
Any ideas anyone?

Hi,

Yes you can lay @ SP on Greyhound races.

However you must use a minimum stake of £10 for the lay bet to be accepted by Betfair.

The stake amount will be used as your liability when the SP is reconciled, i.e. when laying @ SP you specify how much liability you want on the lay bet because of the fact that the SP odds are not known until the SP is reconciled.

Mark

Hi Mark, Ok that makes sense But that info is different to the help pages where it states min £10 liability.

"Please note that if your SP bet is a lay bet then your bet must have a minimum liability of 10 GBP or the equivelant in other currencies for it to be accepted by Betfair."

Thanks for getting back to me, Back to the drawing board then :)
Thanks dave

Hi,

It is £10 liability but your stake is used as the liability.
I will change the User Guide to make it clearer when I get chance.

Regards,
Mark

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
