How to tell when the offset bet has been matched?

Please post any questions regarding the program here.

That is true. I'll have to make sure it matched at once then ie take a lower price, or is the a way of adding an option turn off the multi-part offset bet? Thanks Gary.

Or can the extra column show all the betrefs, seperated by a delimiter. I can work with that. Might be easier..... Just a thought.

It will contain all the refs separated by a delimiter.

Hi Gary,

I have done a bit of testing with the offset bet and it works very well, albeit I have only been tested with a 1 tick offset. But it never missed one as you'd expect.

Just one thing I noticed, which may be by design, is that if you changed the amount of addition information (SP, Form, Weight, Offset Bet Matched etc.) it will appear in a different column depending on the amount selected. This isn't too much of a problem but it would be better from a VBA side that the info would always appear in the same column. If the additional information was not selected then that column could be left blank, but it would be good idea to keep the header as this will make Excel treat it as a table.

I'll be able to give this a bigger test once you have completed the work on providing the Betref(s) of the offset bet. This will allow me to make a larger tick offset. Any idea how long this is going to be? I understand you have been busy, I just would like a rough estimate...

Cheers,

Al :)

It's by design unfortunately. I should be able to add it by the end of this week. The data is already there, I just need to add a column for it.

OK great, the columns thing is no real issue for me as I just have them all displayed even if I don't use them. I just thought I'd mention it.

I'm looking forward to getting the BetRefs, really really useful.

Thanks,

I've added the extra column.

The refs are delimited by ; and are suffixed by the following.
P offset bet placed as a result of original bet being partially matched
F offset bet placed as a result of original bet being fully matched
S offset bet is a stop loss bet

So you could receive several refs suffixed with P followed by a final ref suffixed with F or a final bet suffixed with S

You can download the latest build of the pre-release version 1.1.0.63 using the link below.

Hi Gary,

I have noticed that when you place an offset bet the bet(s) do not get logged in the Log Bet Sheet, only orignal bet does.

Can you take a look?

Thanks.

All bets are logged in the MyBets sheets regardless of how they were placed, even if they were placed using the website. Are you referring to MyBets or bet results? Only bet refs that appear in the bet ref column in Excel are logged in bet results at the moment.

Yeah I mean the Bet Results.

I am just trying to work out the result of the offset bet, win or lose etc and also whether it got matched inplay etc.

As a work around I am using the -9 trigger in the active market to get the offset bets in the bet results sheet, but I think it would be good to have them appear automatically. I know you are busy so maybe just put it on your to-do list.

I'd just thought i'd mention it whilst I noticed it.

Many Thanks,

Al :D

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
