Does LAYR just mean LAY then Repeat ??

Cos I tried it and it was just laying the same selection over and over gladly mostly unmatched and I could cancel them

Would LAYR-PL5-F10 work ??

It's not supposed to keep laying over and over again unless you are making that happen by removing the "N" that is appended to the bet reference after it has been fired. Can you provide an example spreadsheet where it is just laying over and over again by itself without you removing the "N"? Can you email it to admin@gruss-software.co.uk so I can investigate?

LAYR is provided because betfair do not allow you to update the stake and odds in one request. It cancels the existing bet and then replaces it at the odds and stake provided in columns R and S. The new bet reference has "N" appended to prevent it replacing the bet continuously.

It's exactly as if you used the CANCEL trigger to cancel the existing bet and then used LAY-PL5-F10.

update

Gary, you say "Betfair do not allow you to update the odds and stake in one request".
For example:

I put a BACK-F10 or LAY-F10 at specific stake and odds, if after 10 seconds the bet is not fired, is allowed to cancel the unmatched bet and put a new one with another stake and odds on the same selection?

Thanks.

Using BACK-F10 or LAY-F10, if after 10 seconds the bet is not matched it will be cancelled automatically by the Fill or Kill modifier. So yes in that case you can just submit a new bet using new stake and/or odds.

Mark

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
