Hi,

Did you move to another market after you had layed the field, because the Tick Offset part would be cancelled if you did that.

Regards,
Mark

Also the tick offset setting must be set before you click the lay field button. This feature definitely works so it must have been one of these two reasons.

Yes, you need to use the multi market tab feature to display the other markets at the same time instead of changing the market. You can right click a market in the market tree or quick pick list market and select "Open market in new tab". As long as you don't close a tab or change the market within the tab then it will continue to monitor the bets and will place the offset bets.

sh.....t

I have done what you said but again same happened!!! tick offset doesnt work!!! both things are ok, so what is the problem?

one more question about the speed of refreshing and placing bets. how can I increase that? and what is the max. speed I can set up on your program. I know betfair allow 20 req. per sec. but I dont know how is this related to unit measure in BA - miliseconds.

I'm afraid I don't know what you are doing wrong. It absolutely does work. I've just tried it myself it's definitely working. Are you sure it's not a case of the tick offset bet being placed but not being matched? There's no guarantee it will be matched. You can see if the tick offset bet has been placed in the transaction log under the account menu.

You can change the refresh rate in betting options in the top left hand corner of the screen. The fastest rate is 0.1 seconds. You can also change the default refresh rate in preferences, select preferences from the options menu, select the general options tab and set the default refresh there.

There is no setting for increasing the speed of bet placement, that is entirely dependent on the quality of your connection to Betfair's server.

I recommend you read the user guide. You can view it under the help menu or here http://www.gruss-software.co.uk/Betting ... p/help.htm

Betting Assistant makes two requests on each refresh when viewing the standard grid therefore if the refresh rate is set to 0.1 it will be making 20 requests per second.

The transaction log does not show what settings are active so I obviously haven't done a good enough job there. I will release an update tomorrow that will show what settings were active when lay field was clicked. If it shows tick offset was active and you are sure you are not changing markets after placing the lay bets then I will take it from there.

while ago I closed BA and opened it again. did as usually - lay field and trigger worked. but earlier I was doing that exactly in the same way. I do things in that order:
1. Setting up a stake
2. Changing the odds
3. Setting up a tick offset at the tick offset tab
4. Switching to lay field and use it (when I open the program the box 'Enable tick offset' is always checked. why? and even if I uncheck it it still shows tick offset highlighted at the top line - not red cross, only green V).

I dont close market, just open next one in new tab (can I watching new market or should I have this one on screen which required tick offset?).

Also looked in to log and see than one of the back bet took ages to place. I understand that this is below minimum stake so the action required double time, which should be at least 5-6 sec. but here it took 14 sec.!!!! Why??

forgot to add to my previous post, that even I take same steps to set up tick offset and lay field, BA sometimes fired up back bet, sometimes not. and I never know when would this happen.
I'm sure that the tick offset was set up before I clicked 'lay field' and also at the same time when the lay bet was matched I was looking at betfair site and the back bet never came out.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
