Script errors on login

Postby phrenetic » Sun Aug 20, 2017 10:00 am

The new version of BA (1.3.0.38j) appears to use a different login mechanism where it displays a Betfair web page.

Unfortunately, when the web page is displayed, an error box pops up indicating a script error. This happens two or three times before you can enter your username and password.

I thought this may have been a problem with the auto-update to the latest version, so I uninstalled BA and then downloaded and installed a new version.

No luck - the script error is still present on the login screen.

Hi,

Nobody else has reported script error on the new log in screen.
Can you seen a screen shot of what you are seeing to admin@gruss-software.co.uk

I have the same issue on one machine but not the other. Both recent machines and both running Windows 10 Pro.

Ok solved it eventually. Very annoying and frustrating error as clicking through the error messages eventually gets you to a page which leads you down the garden path claiming the problem is in whatever browser you are using not being able to access Betfair Exchange +. So you do the roundabout clearing caches etc etc etc. Reinstalling browsers.

Anyway the solution was to uninstall Betting Assistant. Download a new copy and reinstall it from scratch. Seems odd that the Betting Assistant autoupdate worked on one machine but not the other but who cares. Fixed.

In the next release script errors will be disabled. Should prevent it happening in future.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
