Simultaneous back bets

Postby vanbuuts » Sat Jul 22, 2017 3:21 pm

I am trying to place BACK the field bets using Excel for races with less than 7 runners after 30 seconds.

However the bets can have up to 15 seconds difference in time when entering the market from top to bottom horse.

All triggers are fired at the same time but the bets do not go in at the same time.

Any help with this? My Refresh rate is set to 0.2 by defalt and barely any coding in the Excel sheet to slow things

what's the trigger you are using?
in the user guide there is a LAYFIELD trigger but not a BACKFIELD trigger
maybe it's a mistake in the guide?
Mark is the one that will answer your question

Using BACK-SP for each selection. Usually the top one will enter the market a good 5-10 seconds before the last

So they are SP bets
I'm using BACKSP with no problems
Is the BACK-SP you are using valid/the same?

Sorry BACK-IP. The bets are being placed in running 30 seconds in. It doesn't matter if they are triggered as BACK-IP or BACK - either way the delay between first and last bet entering the market in the bets manager is several Seconds.

Are these bets under minimum stakes? And are they on the new streaming beta or the old version BA?

Hi CS I'm on version 1.3.0.37a with automatic upgrade of version.

Some of the stakes are under the £2 threshold yes

Not sure how many bets you can update in one API request maybe it's waiting for each bet to be updated to the sub minimum stakes before moving to the next and that'd take approx 3 seconds each bet in running.

I remember there used to be a problem with the cancel trigger cancelling bets one at a time rather than en masse but Gary brought out the CANCEL_ALL trigger to get round that. I think you'll just just have to wait for Gary to respond or PM him as it really depends on how BA has been coded to process multiple bet submissions especially when some are under minimum stakes.

Alternatively you could try the new Beta as that's been amended to take advantage of the new limits on stakes so sub min stakes can now go in in one bet if they meet the £10 payout criteria

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
