Liability bets

Postby posimmo » Sun Feb 08, 2015 1:51 pm

Good afternoon

I hope someone can help me with this. I have been placing BSP liability bets for years using Gruss but in the past couple of days something strange is happening. If I place a liability bet, the software treats it as a stake amount and multiplies that stake by the current odds. This takes me way over my liability limit and so the bet is not placed. I am not doing anything different to that which I have always done. I've removed and downloaded the software to no avail. Any ideas, anyone? Thanks in advance.

All working fine for me, you don't actually say how your placing the bets. Are they by excel or manually? Do you have the correct staking mode selected to liability, are you clicking the projected SP column to stick them into the BSP pot or clicking odds fr them to be converted to BSP if not matched pre off?

Try ticking the verify bets option as that will show you the exact options you've chosen before placing the bet and may highlight where the error is.

Thanks very much, Captain Sensible, I agree with everything you say but I have been doing just this for years and I cannot work out what could have changed. I manually select the bet to lay at BSP, verify it and then place it. I have attached a jpg showing the screens as they appear in sequence. I am just baffled.

Regards

Your staking mode on that screenshot is set to stake rather than liability. Are you clicking the projected SP column to fire in the SP bets or clicking the odds then clicking the place at SP tick box?

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
