Questions on Lay Dutch Function

Postby dealbanker » Thu Mar 05, 2015 10:27 am

Hello I am new to the Dutch Function in BA and wonder if anyone can answer these few questions - I am trying to gauge my likelihood a of a successful submission of Dutch wagers...

1 Which odds column are used in the Dutch function calculations, the current odds being offered or the odds being asked for? The Dutch wagers are set against those odds?

2 If the wagers have been submitted and matched, will each wager be cancelled from being submitted again?

3 Are there any other preferences I should set before submitting a Dutch?

4 Do unmatched wagers in a Dutch carry into play or Is there a way to keep in play?

Thanks for any responses and any suggestions

Hi,

Please see the video in the following link which demos the dutching in Betting Assistant:-
http://www.gruss-software.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=5973

1. When doing a dutch lay, the software uses the best lay odds being offered

2. The bets are only submitted once

3. If you want the bets to be carried in play (should they be unmatched before) then tick the "Keep In Play" option in Betting Options before placing the dutch bet.

4. See number 3.

Regards,
Mark

Thank you for those answers to my questions Mark.

Just to clarify question 1 - for a Lay Dutch, that will be targeting the prices in column `Lay Odds 1' in my excel sheet, in the expectation of an immediate match?

And for a Back Dutch, targeting the prices in column `Back Odds 1' in my excel sheet?...

Hi,

That is correct for Excel.
You have the calculations for setting up a dutch bet in Excel?

Sorry Mark, I should have been clearer in the question. I will not be using excel at this stage but the BA interface.

I was using the Excel sheet headers as a marker/example, to clarify exactly which odds the Dutch function is targeting.

Appreciate the responses so far...

cheers

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
