Average Price Matched

Postby spreadform » Sat Nov 22, 2014 2:28 pm

There is an option to display this column in the grid interface, and the ladder interface always includes it in the upper right. The Help file says: "Displays the average price matched based on volume matched at each price" (Home > Betting Assistant Features > Ladder Interface). That sounds like volume-weighted average price, which is what I'm looking for.

I'm trying to display this column in Excel from the grid interface but cannot find the corresponding checkbox in Additional columns (Excel > Log Current Prices). There is an "Average last matched price", but this is something completely different.

Is there a way to log this column in Excel?

It's the exact same figure. Are you definitely seeing different values in the spreadsheet to the grid?

They are similar but not the same, Gary.

See Excel log file and BA screenshot attached. The prices in question are highlighted in red in the log file (last column was added manually). The prices are definitely not the same.

Am I missing something? I cannot see the average last price matched as output in additional columns in the screenshot. Is it the two highlighted columns you are comparing? One is just the last price matched, not average. Additional columns are output starting at column Y.

I have "SP" and "Average last matched price" checked in the "Additional columns" list of the "Excel - log current prices" dialog box (Excel > Log Current Prices). Column X is all zeros, and each cell in column Y and Z contain a single space character (" "). Everything else is blank.

Due to the way additional columns were implemented they are only available if triggered betting is enabled. Is enabled triggered betting ticked when you select log current prices?

Not currently, Gary, as I'm only trying to get prices now. But you are right, as soon as I enable triggered betting, the columns start populating. Everything looks good now, the captured "Average last matched price" data in Excel matches "Average Price Matched" shown in the software. Thanks for your help!

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
