Lay all and inplay

Postby dealbanker » Wed Oct 26, 2011 1:30 pm

Hello
does anyone know how to write the excel formula for the following scenario...
I need program to trigger lay bets when:
any 2 horses of the field have back bet odds being asked are under 2.00 - lay all horses @ 2.00
any 3 horses where back bets being asked are under 3.00 - lay all horses @ 3.00
any 4... and so on up to 6

Thanks in advance if this is possible

Edit
scenario should read as
any 2 horses...
or
any 3 horses
or
any 4

Not sure if this would be in a nested IF function or it needs separate sheets for each function, if Guss can do that

easy enough to program in excel using the countif function but you're wasting your time as Betfairs cross matching would mop up any bets well before you bsoecause the book would be overround, the only times it'd occur would be with a non runner when people were trying to manipulate the book

Thank you Captain

On the Betfair point, I have been doing it successfully (manually) using their horrible Rapid program... I am looking to automate it with Gruss

Thanks for the formula tip. I will go and learn about Countif

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
