BA Additional Columns

Postby mtysocks » Wed Aug 10, 2011 10:04 am

Hi.

I have BA linked to a spreadsheet. I have enabled triggered betting, and the additional columns under Excel are ticked as well. I was able to get all the additional data (i.e. trainer/jockey/horse age/weight etc) data shown on the spreadsheet. However, I am now unable to do so. I have checked the spreadsheet and nothing has changed in it. I have ticked/unticked the additional columns and it just seems like they arent refreshing. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

The most likely cause is that the silks column is not displayed on the grid. If it does not fetch the silks info then it will not fetch the additional info either. Open preferences, select the grid interface tab and make sure "Show silks" is ticked under "Display columns".

Is there any chance in a later version that the additional information could be gathered without the silks information being requested - Paul

It's not planned. Is there any particular reason why you need this?

My reasons are A to limit the volume of data coming down the line, it is not a major issue but in the past, with a data cap, it was; and B I have no interest in the jockeys silks whatsoever.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
