Trouble With Time to In Play

Postby kiint » Mon Mar 15, 2010 10:02 pm

Hi,

I'm having a bit of trouble with the time remaining before a market turns in play that is placed in cell D2 of an Excel worksheet.

I navigate through the quickpick list sequentially and if the time remaining is less than a certain number of minutes, then I deem that the market doesn't meet my criteria and so I set a trigger to select the next market.

However, I was getting a problem with markets being skipped that should have been okay and after doing a bit of testing it appears that the time remaining cell isn't updated at the same time as the new market details such as market name and selection information. The time remaining from the previous market is left in there until the next refresh when it is updated with the correct value.

So my question is, is this as it should be and so I need to code something to cater for the situation or is it a small bijou bugette?

Many thanks,

Kiint

Brilliant, many thanks Gary. I'll give it a go this evening when I get home from the daily grind.

Gary,

Works a treat now, many thanks. I reckon that a large number of major software providers could learn a thing or two from how you look after you customers.

Cheers,

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
