In Play Stop Loss

Postby andyv » Mon Mar 08, 2010 4:41 pm

I've been doing a little work on triggering bets in-play and taking either a tick offset or a stop loss. i.e. issuing "BACK-TL9-SL18-IP" or something similar.

I think there is a potential problem with the price request on a stop loss.

Because the movement can be very rapid when a price goes out, in play, although the stop loss is triggered at the correct stop loss price, the bet is not always matched because the price requested is at the same trigger point and by the time the bet is made, the price has dropped further.

It seems to me that there needs to be an option, in this stop loss scenario to request the price at a higher odds value, for example lay odds 3.

Has anybody else had a similar issue/problem?

Yes, it's a known issue. There will be more options to specify the odds at which the stop loss will be placed at in a future release.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
