Weight of Money

Postby Redders » Thu Jan 14, 2010 11:31 pm

Hi hope someone can clear this up . I was looking at the match odds tonight on the Villa game on the std interface . On the back side of Villa there was 27k on the lay side at one point there was 7k.. Ok I understand that 27k is really lay money and vis-versa..

When I bring up the same market on the ladder interface , the money is really now in its correct postion ie it shows 27k on lay side .. Am I correct in my assumptions first off .

And why is this like this on the ladder interface . I am really sorry if I am talking rot here , any nice guys out there to clear this up for me .. All the best Redders .

The layer's money appears on the left hand side on both the grid and ladder.

The difference is that when you click on the left side of the ladder you are placing a lay bet. It's just more intuitive that way you are offering a price rather than taking it. I think most traders prefer it this way and we are not the only API vendor to implement it in this way.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
