Excel trigger.

Postby sjaak1943 » Thu Dec 03, 2009 12:35 pm

Is it possible to make a trigger for the following problem:

Suggest, I want to back a horse at odds of 4.00, if the price goes down I want to lay at 2.00 and green up, however if the price goes up, I want to lay at 8.00 with the double backstake.
Does this make sence?

"BACK-T20-SL20"
would be a nice trigger if I had control over the StopLoss Laystake.
How can I manage that?

BACK-TL20-SL20-L might be what you want. It will place the offset bet with a stake that will produce the same profit across all selections. If the stop loss fires it will use a stake that will produce the same loss across all selections.

Hi Gary,

It's not what I ment.
Because my selection seems to gonna lose, I want the stoploss to lay with a higher stake than the backstake, so my selection stay with a loss and all the others with a profit.

In that case then there isn't an option for that. You would need to program the spreadsheet to do it for you by placing the bet then monitoring the matched price and current price columns.

I will add an example to the sample spreadsheets when I get some spare time.

My problem seems to be "not interesting" or can't be done or is a wrong idea?

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
