Override Odds Function

Postby Redders » Wed Oct 14, 2009 11:22 am

Hi I have looked this up in the help section but can not get my head around it .

Can any one give me a clear example of this .. say an in running horse race where this function would be used , with an example I sure I will understand.

Thanks alot for your time , I will be staying with Gruss only moved over because of the BTP problems ,, but I love this soft ware ..

When override odds is ticked and you click on any of the 3 back or lay prices then you will not be requesting the odds you clicked on. Instead it will request the odds you have entered into the override odds boxes. To see what I mean make sure "Verify bets" is ticked and click on any of the prices. You will see the odds you are about to request are from the override odds boxes.

You could for example set the override back odds to 1.01 and use this for backing horses in running. Betfair always match you to the highest odds available so you are saying you will accept any odds down to 1.01 to ensure you get matched. The downside is that if there is only 1.01 available after the second delay imposed by Betfair you will only get matched at 1.01. You have to decide the lowest odds you are willing to accept.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
