Football question

Postby clinton » Wed Jun 17, 2009 6:32 pm

I trade the footbal market.

Lets suppose my excel trigger fire a back bet @ 2,0 during a footbal match. In the same time the trigger fire a lay bet @ 1,7 to close my trade. This bet is obviously unmatched
At this point a goal is scored. The market is suspended, and my lay bet is cancelled for ever.
Does it exist a trigger that say to Betfair that the lay bet must stay afetr suspension?

ty for your help

Unfortunately Betfair don't offer "keep bet" functionality on bets after the market has gone in play. I wish they would. The bet ref will change to CANCELLED in excel so you could monitor for this is and trigger another bet.

What about the Stop Loss Option at the Betting Options (not the excel trigger)? Will it still monitor the Ticks or Odds after a Suspension?

And will it work using multiple markets (coupon view) and simultaneous bets for different markets?

Thanks

Maybe i didn't explain myself correctly in the previous reply:

I currently have the betting options tick offset and stop loss on which worked well in last nights matches.

2 questions regarding this:
- Will the stop loss be effective even on markets that have suspension ie. soccer?
- I often do this mistake: add one market, backing it and the stop loss button goes red (therefore activated). Then I move to the second market and open it instead of dragging it to create a coupon view. When I load the first market again, the stop loss button is no longer red.

Can you help me? Thanks :D

If you open another market that replaces the current one then the stop loss is no longer active on the original market. You can drag another market to the coupon view and this will not affect the original market. You can then place a stop loss bet on the 2nd market and it will monitor both of them. It will still monitor even after suspension.

I recommend upgrading to the pre-release version as I fixed a bug recently which can cause stop losses to be triggered falsely in in-play markets. You can download it using the link below.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
