Bet results

Postby mikey » Thu Aug 27, 2009 8:10 pm

Hi everyone,

Can anyone point me in the right direction here, If i lay and then back the same horse (if its winning) on the bet results page on my spreadsheet it only shows the original back side of the bet , is this right?

Bet ref Selection name Bet type Amount Average Odds

8777537368 Deal Or No Deal L -0.61 2.96 RESULT_LOST

Is there any way i can show the actual profit/loss? or record this somehow? I am trying to work the next stake from the previous results

When excel runs the sheet_change event after BA refreshes you can place a "U" in cell J2 which refreshes your balance and exposure

You can then use a simple excel formula

New Total = Balance - Current Exposure

The only problem with this is that until the market is settle the figures won't update but then it's not any slower than waiting for the bet results page to update

Thanks Osknows,

This would be good if i had a level profit/loss on all runners but it can be a bigger loss on the losers and a small loss/profit on the winner.

I was more thinking of some code maybe when the race finished to copy the winner (1.01 odds?) profit/loss figure to a page and keep all of todays results and base my next stake on these figures. unfortunatly i'm not good with creating code but maybe able to adjust something to suit.

Anyone got some example code i could try??

In theory yes but the problem with your suggested method is that it doesn't always work that way. I've seen numerous races where a tight finish results in some very strange suspended market prices. The winner is not always 1.01

It's always possible to code around this but I think it's easier to accept the time delay in the market settlement updates

Hopefully your staking plan means that any change to your new stake based on a previous loss or win is very small. If not I would reconsider your stkaing plan

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
