Level Profit question

Postby elma » Tue Jul 28, 2009 2:02 pm

hi

example:

I back a horse with 100$ at 3 and put a sell oder for 2 inplay . now if it hits the sell order I have 100$ if this horse wins or I use the Level profit.

is it possible to put a level profit order in the market at 2? so it will immediately give me a profit for each horse?

Sorry, not without working out the correct stake yourself in advance. So when you enter your bet at 2.0 you should use (3/2) X 100 = $150

Gary, please ignore me if I'm wrong, but shouldn't that be using real odds, not decimal? So the calculation would be

(3-1) / (2-1) x 100 = $200

(If you're right, it just shows how much I don't understand about this!!)

No, the formula works with decimal odds. You cannot lock in $100 profit from a $100 stake if the odds go down from 3.0 to 2.0 which is what your formula would mean.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
