What went wrong?

Postby Paul » Thu Jul 16, 2009 9:29 pm

Can someone explain this, I placed a back bet at 5.1 which was matched, I then placed a lay at twice the back amount at 2.55 which did not appear in the bet manager. Is there a box I should have checked but didn't?.The idea was for the lay to be matched in running then win or lose I would win the amount of the back bet.
Thanks.

If you wanted the bet to remain for the in play market you'd need to have the "Keep in play" option ticked in betting options or just convert the bet to a keep in play bet by ticking the option next to the bet in the bet window.

Have a look at the manual and spend a bit of time getting used to all the settings available and what they do as there are quite a few. It's better you spend the time now getting to know the software now rather than later when it might cost you alot of money.

Thanks for that, will do, the annoying thing is that it traded down to 2. Live and learn.

no problem , have a look at some of the tick offset functions as they'll fire in the offsets for you once a bet is matched and work out the stakes etc to auto green up for you

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
