Triggers and Stop Loss Indicators in Ladder Interface

Postby Magic Murf » Wed Jun 17, 2009 8:17 pm

Hi,

I'm trialling BA for my free month at the mo', and so far so good.
It's automated and hence speeded up the rate at which I lose money to Betfair.

So far very impressed.
One query, which may be stupid ...
In the ladder interface, during my early trials I seem to remember dragging the pending tick and stoploss coloured indicators up and down to manually override the settings during trading. Now, however, it won't let me do that.

Have I changed some settings? If so, which ones?

Or am I thinking of another product? (always possible).

And, if the latter, can this be added to the development wishlist - if the market suddenly becomes sluggish, I'd like to pull in the offset manually; or push it out, if there's sudden volatility.

Sorry if this is a stupid or inane (or both) question,

MM.

It is a feature. There is a glitch where you cannot drag a tick offset indicator if you used "Ticks = %". Also you cannot drag a tick offset indicator to the same level or beyond your original bet creating a loss situation. Could either of these scenarios be your problem?

Thanks Gary.

Knowing that it *should* work encouraged me to persevere.

Turns out that it doesn't work if the ladders are reversed.
I'm sure you'll sort that in a future release. Until then, I'll use the ladders with Lays to the Left.

cheers,

MM.

Thanks for letting me know. I didn't know about the reversed ladders issue. I will fix it.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
