Misc. problems

Postby chemist » Sun Jan 08, 2012 1:16 pm

I downloaded the trial version a few days ago. So far I have encountered a couple of problems.

  • Switching from market to market by clicking in the left hand pane I occasionally get a message like "reqs pending". When this happens I cannot switch to another market.
  • Currently BA is showing fewer prices in the IvA T3 first innings lead than is the web interface. The latter shows prices of 2.9, 2.94 and 3 available to lay on an Indian lead, whereas BA shows only 3.

I mostly bet cricket. From the looks of the software it is oriented towards horse racing traders. Is it reliable for other types of market?

The web interface was displaying the equivalents of the back prices on the other side as available lays. Obviously BA doesn't do this (which I don't really have a problem with).

The odds are different due to virtual prices created by Betfair which are not provided by the API. See http://www.gruss-software.co.uk/forum/v ... php?t=4642

You can install the Beta version of Betting Assistant which will display the same prices as the website by calculating them. See http://www.gruss-software.co.uk/forum/viewforum.php?f=9 for download link for the Beta version. You will need to open preferences and then tick "Apply cross matching formula in recognised markets" for it to display these prices.

I don't know why you are getting stuck when loading markets, let me know if it occurs in the Beta version and I will investigate.

Betting Assistant is designed for use on all markets, not just horse racing.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
