Excel question - stop loss related

Postby zemedelec » Sun Oct 09, 2011 11:25 am

Hello everybody,

I am a complete newbie and I have few questions regarding excel formulas and triggers.

First, when I use the stop loss trigger modifier and the SL bet is unmatched because the market is moving too fast, what is the simplest way to make excel bet again in worse odds, although it is above stop loss level.

Example : BACK at 1.5, stop loss set to 1.6, but the bet is unmatched and the market continues to rise. So I want now to take the best odds possible, although it is above 1.6. Should I use UPDATE? or CLEAR and then LAY? and CANCEL the original stop loss bet? I am bit confused, so will be very happy for any answers. The beggining is really tough :)

Thanks very much..

If you upgrade to the Beta version it has a new feature that will resubmit the stop loss bet at the latest odds if not matched after a specified number of seconds. See http://gruss-software.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=6619 for download link.

eg.
BACK-SL10-L-SLC1

The above trigger requests a 10 tick stop loss with level loss and will check if unmatched every 1 second and place again at current odds if necessary. Please note it only works in conjunction with level loss. If level loss is not specified "-SLC1" will be ignored.

Thank you Gary, very helpful. Is it possible to achieve similar thing with these steps :

EXAMPLE:
1) Instead of using stop loss trigger, just use normal LAY/BACK. So BACK was 1.5, then condition for LAY will be IF odds >=1.6, then place LAY at 1.9.

2) Now, I would expect this program to place a LAY bet at best odds possible in range 1.6 - 1.9 due to Best odds execution principle.

3) So, if odds stays at 1.6, it gets matched. If market moves quickly up, it will take the best odds possible, say 1.85. I am talking mainly about highly volative in-play markets ...

Is this correct?

May I have another question? I would like to have lets say 10 in-play tennis matches in one workbook. Is it possible to have them all in one Sheet? And is it possible to add tennis matches to worksheets 1 minute before going in-play?
Sorry, still a novice in Excel betting and just thinking ahead of problems I will face soon ... :)

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
