Submitting bets without requesting data

Postby andak fedal » Fri Sep 09, 2011 9:29 am

I'm finally getting to grips with the refresh and throttling stuff so thanks so much for the help I have received so far.

One thing I'm still not sure about is why you can't submit bets from a sheet without requesting data from it.

If submitting bets doesn't actually count as a data request, shouldn't it be possible to just receive data in one sheet (maintaining maximum data requests) and submit bets on the same selection on a host of others that only need to be triggered from the first sheet and not see the data?

I don't think it is because it needs a refresh and this will automatically request data. Have I understood this correctly or is there actually a way of doing this?

Anyone able to confirm this for me please?

Is it possible to submit bets from a sheet without requesting data?

When you say "the same selection" do you mean the same market is on several sheets? If this is the case then you should upgrade to the Beta version. If the same market is open in multiple tabs and they are all set to the same refresh rate it only requests the data once for all markets.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
