I'm on Sky BB - probably their problem - just thought I'd ask!

I have it since yesterday..
In the morning everything was fine but now it is high again...
I tried a previous version of BA and it was even worst.

It won't be a Betting Assistant issue.
Using an older version won't make any difference.
I would say that getting worse response times on different versions is just co-incidental.
It's either going to be your ISP or the Betfair server that are causing poor response times.

Yes Mark
I am sure about it.
Just tried everything I could...

The strange thing is that I get awfull times the last 2 days in 2 different vps
which are fast usually

I have the refresh rate at 0.2 and i the brackets it goes 100-150

My main problem is that I can't prove them that something is wrong..
Not so good at technicals things :(

It's some kind of internet routing issue perhaps. When I tried pingtest.net I got excellent speeds but still 150ms to betfair. Now when I route my connection through a VPN to betfair I get usual ping speeds of 50-55ms.

I think it's possible to set up a VPN if you have a VPS - probably for security rather than speed reasons - but I looked into it and it seemed fiendishly complicated! So I just plumped for an off-the-shelf service - they're loads advertised if you google VPN - some are free, some offer better speeds & servers around the world (people abroad like to do this to get around the BBC iPlayer restrictions). I got mine so I can use public Wifi hotspots securely. I guess they'll all have their own variations on how to set-up but it's pretty much just installing a piece of software.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
