Question about adding to an unmatched bet.

Postby Powerstretch2 » Tue Aug 24, 2010 5:12 pm

Question about adding to an unmatched bet.

If I place a bet which isn't matched, is there any way, either on the grid interface or on excel, that I can add to that bet.

For example, I make a bet of £10 at 1.01, which isn't matched, can I then add another £5 to it?

This does not seem possible to me, is this correct?

Thanks,
Alan

You cannot add to a bet and still only have one bet reference if this is what you are asking. Betfair do not provide any way to do this. You can choose to update the bet and increase the stake, but when you submit the update it will generate a new bet for the difference.

See http://www.gruss-software.co.uk/videos/Update_Bet.html which demonstrates the three different ways you can update a bet on the grid interface. You can see a new bet being generated each time.

You can also use the UPDATE trigger in Excel.

Thanks Gary,

Exactly what I wanted to know ...should have guessed you'd have an app for that, lol!

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
