Sort Order

Postby U.F.O » Sat Jun 05, 2010 2:00 pm

Is there an easy way to sort the horse order in excel, for example if i have the order set to back prices they are not in the same order when i link it to excel.

thanks

It's by design. You can use Excel's rank function to determine order. See http://gruss-software.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=4886 for an example.

Yeah i can see why you wouldn't want the order constantly changing in excel, just thought there maybe a option to for example to sort into price order when you first connect excell and then it would be locked it in that order.

i will try the excel sort thing thoe thanks.

price order

Postby mouse » Wed May 09, 2012 1:06 am

High guys

need some help with a trigger, as searching hasn't given me the answer.
Its to do with price order, i think.

The trigger formula i want is to:
back the fav if the total price of the 2nd +3rd fav > say 11.

would really appreciate some help here, as i spent hrs searching to no avail.
I have some v basic excel trigger knowledge e.g RANK, SMALL

thanx

I guess the simplest way would be to have the odds for the 2nd and 3rd favs displayed in a separate column then just use sum to add them up and use that summed figure within your trigger cell

Something like this placed in column AA and copied down from AA5 would display the odds, obviously you need to add all your other criteria in the trigger to cover things like joint 3rd favs etc but it'll display the basic odds

=IF(F5>1,IF(OR(RANK(F5,$F$5:$F$41,1)=2,RANK(F5,$F$5:$F$41,1)=3),F5,""),"")

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
