How to set up Back/Lay betting

Postby kimberly » Thu Mar 18, 2010 11:05 am

Hello All,

Bet Assistant is a fantastic piece of software but I don't think I'm using it to its full potential.

How I set up automatic back/lay betting on one horse, using the trading menu ?

I would like to automatically lay the favourite, and then back 2 ticks higher once in play ?

If the horse dosesn't reach 2 ticks higher when backing, i need a stop loss to cover all bets.

Thanks
kimberly

Betting Assistant doesn't have a built in function for identifying and laying the favourite. You can identify the favourite manually and place the lay bet yourself using the tick offset and stop loss features, but this isn't what you want is it?

Am I correct in saying you want it to do this itself automatically on all races throughout the day without user intervention? If this is what you want then you will need to use the Excel triggered betting features. See the user guide here http://www.gruss-software.co.uk/Betting ... p/help.htm
Unfortunately we cannot set up each spreadsheet for our customers on a case by case basis so if you find you are struggling you could try asking for a developer to help you. See http://www.gruss-software.co.uk/forum/v ... m.php?f=12

Hello Kimberly :)

the sheet available here should be a good starting point for you?
Perhaps all you need to do is add the appropriate trigger mods?

Hope this helps - Michael :)

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
