Discuss anything related to using the program (eg. triggered betting tactics)

Cell C2 is also from your PC time so the same applies. The spreadsheet is not updated anywhere with a time from Betfair's server, only from your PC so if your PC is not exactly in sync with Betfair then they can show different times.

It's likely to be down to your PC clock time being out slightly, keesbart, I logged the inplay indicator at 13:32:15. Just looked at my PC clock compared to the time on RUK and it's slightly fast so 13:32:12 seems about right to me.

Gary,

I synchronized my computerclock (time.windows.com). There is no difference in the seconds before and after synchronization.

I am sure there is no bug in BA. Can there be a difference between the UK and Europe in data transfer?

No. Both requests from UK and outside UK are both answered directly by Betfair's UK api server when requesting prices which includes the market suspension indicator. Only requests for account data, eg. current bets are then passed on to Betfair's Malta server.

looking at the race time, and the time of the suspensions, would it be fair to say the market was kept open for about 2 seconds longer than the race took to run. as the man on track who suspends the market would also be around 0.5 of a second behind the time the stalls open.

What are you actually trying to proove/disproove jumpsfan? That you had bet taken after the race finished?

You should be able to find things like the race start time and winning time on the net that should give you the time the race finished ie add them together. You can find the exact time your bet was matched via the API but even then you'll find Betfair have covered themselves in the t&c's against most things where it may cost them money

K, sadly late suspensions at the start or end of a race happen far too often and plenty of people get screwed over. Betfair like to hide behind their t&c's with the bigger cockups but it is possible to get bets voided, eventually ;)

A friend of mine in the UK is using the same BA-spreadsheet as I do.
The in play times and the suspension times in the UK and Europe are exactly the same. No delay.
I noticed again that the Betfair grid is updating 10-15 seconds slower than the BA grid (In play, Suspension, prices).

By Betfair grid do you mean the website? That's always going to be delayed against BA because the refresh on there is set to something like once every ten seconds.

Here's the times my app had logged today

Yarm 26th Jul - 14:15 14:15:27
Wolv 26th Jul - 14:30 14:30:47
Yarm 26th Jul - 14:45 14:46:46
Wolv 26th Jul - 15:00 15:01:13
Yarm 26th Jul - 15:15 15:15:56
Wolv 26th Jul - 15:30 15:32:12
Yarm 26th Jul - 15:45 15:46:01
Wolv 26th Jul - 16:00 16:01:17
Yarm 26th Jul - 16:15 16:16:20
Wolv 26th Jul - 16:30 16:30:12

Probably a few seconds late as my clock was a bit fast , reset it to ATR and I'll post the rest later, be interesting to see if they're close to yours. They only log the inplay indicator at the off

Hi jumpsfan,

Newb 18:00 Sunday UK time 17:00):
Time in play: 18:00:44
Suspension time: 18:01:49
Time of the race: 1:05 (time between In Play and Suspension).
These times can be off 1 second, because of rounding of parts of a second.

This is not consistent with ATR and Racing Post:
ATR: time off at: 18:00:34 - race time of winner 1:17 - time when the winner crosses the line: 18:01:51
Racing Post: time of winner: 1:17

Since I a few days I synchronize my clock every day before the first race of the day.

thanks you keesbart

i think the time the race took is 1 minute 1 second .17
1.01.17
i think 1 minute 17seconds is too long for a 5f race.
again the race was suspended after they passed the line on my t.v.
i am on a delay of about 5 seconds.

thanks again for the reply

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
