Opening markets from Excel

Postby Johnson Powers » Sat Aug 09, 2014 8:17 pm

Hi all

Can anyone tell me if the following is possible?

I'd like to open a specific football market from excel into Betting Assistant. Ideally i'd like to be able to open any market that i have exposure on and have it linked to my excel sheet.

I will be placing bets on my mobile and i'd like betting assistant (which i have running on my home server) to open the market so it can green up at a certain point. I can do the vba for greening up if the market is open, but i am unsure if it is possible to use Excel to open a market?

I can login via teamviewer and add the market manually but i'd like to automate the process as much as possible as i don't want to risk forgetting and letting the market go inplay.

Anyone any ideas?

Cheers

There are a couple of options to open specific markets
1. Using the COM openMarket function
2. Send GO:<EventId> in cell Q2 of Excel

If you log the market Id of each event when opening a trade you should be able to cycle that list of Id's and perform some action in the market. The only restriction is that you can't open a new tab in BA so will need to use an existing open tab to do it.

Thanks osknows - i'll look into that.

Oddly i've just been playing around and found you can load all markets that currently have unsettled bets using the Market menu > Coupon Markets > My Active Markets. This then lists all the markets and seems to link them to Excel in sheet one ok. This is ideal for what i need.

All i need to do is trigger this process from excel. Does anyone know if there is a trigger to launch this action?

Cheers

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
