Close off the Day - how to .....

Postby Happy Harry » Tue May 15, 2012 8:27 am

Sorry if this has already been answered but I cant find it.

How does one close off the day. Force an update to the Excel Spreadsheet keeping the results without finding a later race that is not autoloaded and manually loading it.

So, to explain further. In my case I load all the Australian ThoroughBred races. They process, perfect. Except that the last race finishes and because there is not another race, the results of the last race are not posted to Excel. So, in order to finish the day, I have to look for a race later than my current time somewhere else in the world, anywhere else in the world, load it up and that forces the update and closure to the spreadsheet. There must be a "force load to now" button but I can not find it.

Thanks.

In cell J3 it gives you the number of races in the pick list, or at least i think it does.

On the last race it will display the letter "L" indicating last race.

You could set up a macro to look for the letter "L" then have it place the letter "U" in cell J2 and "-6" in Q2 this will update the balance and also update the results sheet.

Absolutely Perfect thanks.

I will need to look at what goes into J3 normally because I can perhaps trigger more end of the day goodness using that information as well - so just need to look at what is going in there during the day normally as I would not want it to be doing things prematurely.

I don't think that would matter because it works the same as if you selected the next race it is just like and update trigger cell, there are a lot of other things you can put in here, take a look at the help files in the excel section.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
