How to use SP trigger

Postby easternpromise » Tue Apr 17, 2012 12:13 pm

Guys,

I'm trying to understand how to use the SP trigger correctly

BACK-T5-SP

For this example, a back is submitted along with a lay bet at 1 tick lower.

If the offset is not matched when race goes in play SP odds are taken for the offset.

Is this correct?

That is correct except it's a lay bet at 5 ticks lower in your example. Also there are two things you need to be aware of.

1. Betfair treat the stake as liability for SP bets so if the lay stake is £50 and the SP is 3.00 for example then the lay stake will become £25 when matched at SP.

2. The minimum liability Betfair accept is £10 so if the liability of the unmatched SP bet is not at least £10 then it will not be converted to SP.

Thanks Gary

Also, can I use the LAYSP trigger like this?

LAYSP-TL1

so lay at sp odds at race start with a 1 tick level offset

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
