£2 @ 1000

Postby easternpromise » Wed Nov 02, 2011 2:42 pm

Hi,

I am currently using trigger LAY-TL1-IPC i place this on all horse selections to a set liability.

For some reason sometimes my offset back bet will be put in at £2 @ 1000, why does it do this if the lay part is 38p @ 48 for example

Betfair doesn't allow amounts below £2. Therefore BA has to make a
workaround that includes £2 @ 1000 but they should be cancelled after the
workaround.

As milfor says initially a back bet for £2 at 1000 is required. If the rest of the process fails then this bet will remain. Usually the problem is insufficient funds to cover the exposure. This can be compounded when several bets are placed at the same time. eg. backing 5 selections for £0.10 does not mean the exposure will be £0.50 it will actually be £12.50 at one point in the process.

You can check the transaction log under the accounts menu to see which request failed and confirm if it was due to exceeded exposure.

I see, so I need to make sure I have enough bank to cover the initial exposure?

Thanks

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
