Trapping the starting price of the fav at the off?

Postby Toma » Fri Jul 27, 2007 9:52 am

I don't know if anyone can help me out here but what I want to do is trap and record the SP of the favourite when the market goes "SUSPENDED" i.e just before the off.

I have tried using =IF(E3="In Play",0,MIN(O5:O50)) which works fine and give me the odds of the shortest traded horse for a splt second when the market goes Not In Play (E3) Suspended (F3). What I want to be able to do is save this figure at this point.

The problem is when the market goes "In Play" I obviousley lose the price?

I don't think this can be done in Excel and I maybe need to start lookign at Macros or VB and that scares me !

any advice would be greatly appreciated. I have what I think is a great little system but it takes much manual activity to perform it and it is very repetative. If I can overcome this issue I think I can automate the whole process (as it all revolves around the price of the Fav!!).

Cheers
Guys!

Hi Toma and everyone,

First post from a newbie, lol.

Could you let know how you solved this, please? i've something in mind to use in running, which depends on the favourite's sp.

Thanks for any help.

Regards :)

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
