Help !!

I selected the Football live coupon matches to see what was on today. To my horror when I looked again at the program later in the day BA had already placed 4 Lay bets on a match, 2 - Lay the draw and 2 - lay the home side. Have I clicked something in error?

Make sure that Verify bets in the top left corner is ticked. Otherwise
each click at a wrong place can lead to a bet.

Sorry, no idea what you did. The program does not place bets by itself. Milfor's suggestion seems most likely.

Verify Bets was ticked. Fortunately the game went my way and I managed to back the draw and dog to make a decent profit. Phew!!
What was strange is that I only stake between £5 & £10 but the bets placed in this case were £20? And, no I don't have any kids or poltergise!! :P

Providing you haven't closed the program since you can check the transaction log in the account menu to see if they were placed by BA. I am 100% sure there isn't a bug where it just places random bets without being instructed to do so by either manual betting, conditional or Excel triggered bets.

That would definitely make me change my password.

I've had an occasion, only once in 4 years on BF, about a year ago, where multiple back bets were appearing on my account on a number of races every few minutes for various amounts up to about £25. Fortunately, because I was active I was able to cancel them straight away.

I rang BF and they had an urgent investigation, and these bets stopped appearing after about an 45 minutes. BF rang me back to tell me it wasn't them and it must have been Gruss doing this !!!!!

Needless to say I think it WAS BF and their system was playing up - I think somehow 'someones' market making bot had somehow become linked to my account, until BF stopped this from happening. Whether it was just me, or others suffered also I have no idea.

Unfortunately as soon as they find out you are using third party software they are very quick to blame it. If it was a bug in our software it would happen regularly to many users, but it is a rare event.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
